What is Aquinas@Home?
Aquinas@Home is a new degree program that allows students to pursue a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM) while continuing to fulfill family, work, and community commitments. This unique degree program is based on Aquinas' years of experience in online course delivery and a faculty experienced in distance teaching. The program is designed for busy adults who want to improve ministry skills, earn academic credentials or prepare for full-time ministry.
Through a combination of readings, online conversations with faculty and students, assignments posted on the web, and intensive sessions in St. Louis, the student can complete a degree while engaged in other responsibilities. Aquinas@Home even allows students to complete supervised ministry at a location near their home.
Aquinas@Home meets the U.S. Bishops' recommendations for lay ecclesial ministry training and is fully accredited by the Assocation of Theological Schools (ATS). This program will prepare students to serve as a minister or administrator in parishes and diocesan offices, and for ministerial roles in Catholic health care and education. Students will discern and engage their unique gifts as baptized persons and discover a deep and rich faith tradition through graduate-level study. Through spiritual formation and supervised ministry experiences customized to personal interests, students will grow both personally and professionally.
When Do I Apply?
Enrollment is now open for Aquinas@Home and will continue on a rolling admission basis until the program is full. Candidates who seek financial aid are encouraged to apply immediately in order to assure first priority in aid distribution.
